Fear, Our Enemy

We are now conquerors for Christ but there is a giant that hinders us from continuing the mission He has entrusted us. The first thing a soul winner must confront is the spirit of fear. It hinders us from seeing what is unseen. It will put negative thoughts in our minds to weaken our spirit of conquest. It will discourage us to continue the battle. Fear is the strongest enemy we have in our ministry.

What is fear? (Accdg to Pastor Castellanos from the book "WIN through the G12 Vision")

It is to look at the circumstances with natural eyes and not God's eyes

When Moses chose 10 spies to inspect the land of Canaan only Joshua and Caleb were able to see what God sees. The other 8 saw the GREAT WALLS bigger that they were and they saw the people living there hard to defeat. They went home discouraging the people to continue because they were intimidated by the land and its people. But Joshua and Caleb had a different view about the land. They said that land was EXCEEDINGLY GOOD. They knew that with God, they could conquer the land of Caanan. Their spirituals eyes were opened. To be soul winners, we must operate the same faith Joshua and Caleb had.

It is to look at the circumstances as they appear and not as they are.

Fear clouds our minds and senses. It gives us wrong impressions of our surroundings. In Ezekiel 37, the Lord brought the prophet in the middle of a valley full of dry bones. He was asked by God to prophesy on the bones and make them live. Without fear, he commanded the dry bones to live and a vast army stood up on their feet and live!

It is the enemy of a conquering Spirit.

God promised to give the land of Canaan to Israel. God saved the Israelites from the hands of the Egyptians to bring them to the promised land. But they missed the chance because of fear. They wandered in the desert because of the bad spirit. "All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, "If only we had died in Egypt! Or in the desert! Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn't it be better for us to go back to Egypt? (Numbers 14:2-3)

It is a demonic weapon that destroys dreams

The nation's complaints made God destroy their dreams. God forgave them but the people who complained and feared were not able to see their dreams come into reality.

It is what the blind see-nothing

Fear hinders us from seeing the blessings of God. Wala pa nga tayong nagagawa, talo agad. Napangunahan na tayo agad ng takot.

Now, Lets declare ourselves free from fear!

1. Identify what you are afraid of.
2. Go the root of the problem.
3. Confront it.
4. Saturate your mind with thoughts of Faith.
5. Maintain yourself strong in Faith.
6. Cultivate absolute confidence.
7. Do opposite of what you fear.
8. Win Souls and Conquer the land!
