Ask the wrong question and you'll get the wrong answer

Wrong Question: How do I grow my church?

This is definitely the wrong question. The wrong question will always lead to the wrong answer. This question is focused on me, instead of Jesus and The Great Commission. This question also reveals wrong motives. It shows in the way that some churches advertise. Many churches that are trying to grow will advertise in Christian media. While this may grow their church, it is not accomplishing the Great Commission. They are merely moving sheep from one pen to another.

Some pastors today are trying to grow their churches so that they can feel successful. They would be satisfied if their churches had 10,000 people, if they had nice properties and buildings, plenty of money, and were making their rounds as a “guest speaker.” Many would be happy, even if they weren’t winning souls. This is the result of asking the wrong question.

Right Question: Do I have a vision and a strategy to win the world for Christ?

This question is based in the Great Commission! This is what Jesus has called the Church to do! If you honestly asked yourself this question today, what would be your answer?
I had to answer this question. Although I had a desire to see the lost come to know Christ, I realized that I did not have a vision to accomplish this goal. I had a desire to make disciples, but had no strategy to disciple the multitudes. I then realized that I must get into the G12 vision.
The right question never allows you to become satisfied with the number of people attending your church! We have a responsibility win the multitudes for Jesus! We are not called to “play church.” We are called to win the lost! “Feelings” will not get the job done! Every word, desire, and conviction must have a vision and a strategy! The Government of 12 is that vision!

Do you have a vision and a strategy to win the world for Christ? Yes! If the Lord gives us enough time, together we can win the entire world for Jesus through the Government of 12!
I was recently speaking with a pastor who was considering G12. I said, “You have a passion for souls. You need be in G12. If you don’t, you won’t be able to sleep at night!” He replied, “I can sleep. I’ll just take sleeping pills.” He was joking, but I wasn’t laughing. It is time to wake up! Jesus wants to use YOU!

This is the first of a series of blogs in which I will talk about why I am in the G12 Vision. I will talk about my life, my family, my disciples, and my church and how the vision has affected each area of my life.
